ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

NOTE: To qualify for admission into the Associate degree in Health Care Management and Hospital administration program, students must currently be working in the Health Care industry.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR DEGREE (HONOURS) PROGRAMS
To be admitted into an Honours program, students must hold an appropriate KIUST Bachelor degree or hold an appropriate recognized Bachelor degree from another college or university. Bachelor Degree holders who enrol for the Honours Program are required to complete the Research Methodology course plus a Research project. Applicants without a Bachelor Degree but with at least an Advanced Diploma qualification plus a good academic record can also apply but will be required to study an additional 6 or 7 Bachelor degree courses depending on their previous academic records.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS
To be admitted into either a Graduate Diploma program or a Master Degree program, students must hold an appropriate KIUST Bachelor degree or hold an appropriate recognized Bachelor degree from another college/university. Applicants without a Bachelor Degree but with a Diploma or an Advanced Diploma qualification who feel they can benefit from the course can also apply. Students enrolling for a Master degree in the areas of Engineering, Health Sciences, Theology and Religion must have a Bachelor degree in the area. However, applicants without a Bachelor Degree in the area but with a Diploma or an Advanced Diploma qualification in the area who feel they can benefit from the course can apply to be considered for admission .
To be admitted into a Doctorate degree program, students must hold an appropriate KIUST Bachelor degree (with Honours) or hold an appropriate KIUST Master degree or hold an appropriate recognized Bachelor degree (with Honours) from another college/university or hold an appropriate recognized Master degree from another college/university. Students enrolling for a Doctorate degree in the areas of Engineering, Health Sciences, Theology and Religion must have at least either a Bachelor degree (with Honours) or a Master degree in the area. However, applicants without a Bachelor degree (with Honours) or a Master degree in the area but with an appropriate qualification and experience in the area who feel they can benefit from the course can apply to be considered for admission as a "Preliminary Doctorate Student". The performance of a "Preliminary Doctorate Student" will be assessed at the end of 12 months to see if the status can be changed from "Preliminary Doctorate student" to "Doctorate Student".
