Learning Centres use a KIUST approved syllabus to prepare online/distance learning students in their countries for KIUST assignments, projects and examinations. Since KIUST is the examining body, all student assignments, projects and examinations are set, marked and/or moderated by KIUST Professors. The preparation of students for assignments, projects and examinations by the Learning Centre requires providing full-time and/or part-time face-to-face support classes (e.g. lectures, tutorials and seminars) to KIUST online/distance learning students in their respective countries. Although the Learning Centres provide students with a face-to-face ‘campus’ experience, all communications to KIUST from the students and the Learning Centres are required to be done on-line via email or fax.

• Accreditation/Recognition: The King’s International University of Science and Technology (KIUST) is a licensed registered private university offering high quality accredited Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, Doctorate Degrees and Post-Doctorate Degree courses and programs through Distance Learning and Online mode of delivery and also (where appropriate) by face to face delivery in “Learning Centres” located in different parts of the world that are associated with KIUST.

  Although accreditation in the USA is voluntary, KIUST accreditation/recognition is stated below::

  (i) The King’s International University of Science and Technology (KIUST) is incorporated and registered by the State of Delaware, USA and has a Certificate of Good Standing in the USA.

  (ii) The King’s International University of Science and Technology (KIUST) in the Caribbean (an autonomous but inter-related entity) is also registered and licensed by the Commonwealth of Dominica and also has a Certificate of Good Standing in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

  (iii) The King’s International University of Science and Technology is accredited with “Full Accreditation Status” by the National Distance Learning Accreditation Council (NDLAC) in the USA and has also been accepted for NDLAC membership. NDLAC is an accreditation association in the USA that was created to ensure the consistent implementation of high standards of educational excellence in the growing field of online learning. It’s major objective is to evaluate the curriculum, standards, policies and practices of online educational institutions and offer membership to those institutions based on their adherence and continued application of clearly established standards.

Although NDLAC is a private accreditation agency, the comprehensive list of schools and universities that are accredited for membership of NDLAC includes many of America’s most prestigious universities. See Website: http://www.n-d-l-a-c.com/missionstatement.html Because KIUST is an accredited member of NDLAC in America, our graduates, especially those with outstanding academic records, may have the opportunity to pursue further studies in America or abroad by On-Campus mode of study ( if they wish to do so).  However, since different universities have different credit transfer policies, KIUST cannot guarantee transfer of credits and cannot guarantee that its qualifications will be accepted by your government and by the universities in your country and KIUST does not guarantee that its qualifications will be accepted by other universities here or abroad.

(iv) The King’s International University of Science and Technology is also accredited by the International Educational Ministry Accreditation Association (IEMAA), USA. The IEMAA is a professional accrediting association established to uphold and maintain high standards for all levels of online postsecondary education.

(v) The King’s International University of Science and Technology is recognized by the European Association of Universities and Higher Schools (EAUHS).

  PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN THE AREA OF COUNSELING: Students currently enrolled for Counseling courses/programs at the King’s International University of Science and Technology can apply for student membership of the:

  Students with relevant work experience/placement who complete Counseling Certificates, Diplomas or Degrees at KIUST can apply for membership, affiliate or associate membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) UK. They can also apply for professional/new professional membership or regular membership of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

  PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION IN THE AREAS OF INDUSTRIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY: KIUST Undergraduate and Graduate students studying any of KIUST Industrial Psychology and/or Organizational Psychology courses are eligible to apply for Student Affiliate status of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

• PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN THE AREAS OF NUTRITION AND NATURAL MEDICINE: Students who complete any of KIUST Nutrition and Natural Medicine courses/programs are eligible to apply to the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) for certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP).

  Graduates of KIUST that hold a Doctorate degree in some field of “Nutrition and Natural Medicine” are eligible to apply to the American Alternative Medical Association (AAMA) for certification as an Alternative Medical Practitioner (AMP). KIUST Doctorate degree graduates are eligible to join the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

  Students with relevant work experience who complete KIUST qualifications in the areas of Nutrition and Natural Medicine are also eligible to apply for membership of the Complementary Alternative Medical Association (CAMA) in the USA.

• PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN THE AREAS OF COMMUNITY HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT: Graduates who hold King's International University of Science and Technology qualifications in the area of Community Health or Healthcare Management with some years of relevant experience will qualify for Associate or Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Practising Professionals (CIPP) in the USA.
  

  Students studying Community Health or Healthcare Management programs at the King's International University of Science and Technology who have obtained at least 9 credits in their study at KIUST are qualified to apply for student membership of the American Public Health Association (APHA). Graduates who hold KIUST qualifications in the area of Community Health or Healthcare Management will qualify for the Special Health Worker membership category of the American Public Health Association (APHA), if working and making less than US$40,000 a year.

  Students studying Community Health or Healthcare Management programs at the King's International University of Science and Technology will qualify for Associate membership of the Institute of Healthcare Management in the UK.  Graduates who hold KIUST Post Graduate Degree qualifications in the area of Community Health or Healthcare Management with at least two years relevant experience will qualify for Full membership of the Institute of Healthcare Management in UK. 

• PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN THE AREAS OF BEAUTY AND COSMETOLOGY: Students studying Beauty therapy and Cosmetology at the King's International University of Science and Technology are qualified to apply for student membership of the National Cosmetology Association (NCA) in USA, the world's largest association of salon professionals. Graduates with relevant work experience who hold KIUST qualifications in the areas of Beauty therapy and Cosmetology are also qualified to apply for membership of the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists is the UK's biggest professional beauty trade body. The Guild has over 5,000 members who are all fully qualified beauty and holistic therapists.

  NOTE: In the USA, obtaining accreditation from accrediting bodies that are linked with CHEA (such as regional accreditation organizations or DETC) is only compulsory for institutions that are government funded and/or intend to receive government funding from the USA, but it is not compulsory for private educational institutions that are not government funded hence KIUST has not sought accreditation through CHEA and is not listed with accrediting bodies that are linked with CHEA. In fact, according to CHEA,  “There are institutions that may not be accredited but are not degree mills. For example, the institution may be seeking accreditation, but the process is not complete. Or a legitimate institution may choose not to be accredited for reasons that do not relate to quality”. As mentioned before, King's International University of Science and Technology is a registered, privately funded university and has accreditation from the International Educational Ministry Accreditation Association (IEMAA), a professional accrediting association established to uphold and maintain high standards for all levels of online postsecondary education. KIUST is also accredited by the National Distance Learning Accreditation Council that accredits on-line, distance learning institutions and courses in the USA.Although these accreditation agencies are not from accrediting agencies approved by the U.S. Department of Education, such approval according to NDLAC “is a voluntary process, and in fact, the U.S. Department of Education states that accreditation itself is a voluntary process. There is no mandate by law for a School, College or University to be accredited”.  Moreover, the U.S. Department of Education: Promoting Educational Excellency for all Americans also states that: “because the Secretary or CHEA does not recognize an accrediting agency does not mean that the institutions accredited by that agency do not provide a quality education.”  In conclusion, KIUST is an accredited, fully registered and licensed university that offers high quality, internationally recognized Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses and programs.  KIUST has USA government Certificate of Good Standing in the State of Delaware in USA and in the Commonwealth of Dominica where it is registered. KIUST courses and programs are also recognized by relevant professional bodies.
