NOTE: In the USA, obtaining accreditation from accrediting bodies that are linked with CHEA (such as regional accreditation organizations or DETC) is only compulsory for institutions that are government funded and/or intend to receive government funding from the USA, but it is not compulsory for private educational institutions that are not government funded hence KIUST has not sought accreditation through CHEA and is not listed with accrediting bodies that are linked with CHEA. In fact, according to CHEA, “There are institutions that may not be accredited but are not degree mills. For example, the institution may be seeking accreditation, but the process is not complete. Or a legitimate institution may choose not to be accredited for reasons that do not relate to quality”. As mentioned before, King’s International University of Science and Technology is a duly licensed registered degree granting private university, offering high quality Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, Doctorate Degrees and Post-Doctorate Degrees. As a registered private university, it does not intend to receive government funding.
