Certificate of Community Health

This Certificate program is the first Stage of the Diploma of Community health that is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and practice of community health. To be awarded the Certificate of Community Health, students must complete the following seven units.

 

DPCH 1010 Introduction to Community Health

DPCH 1015 Human Anatomy and Physiology

DPCH 1020 Behavioral Sciences and Community Development

DPCH 1025 Medical Microbiology

DPCH 1030 Medical Parasitology

DPCH 1035 Communicable Diseases

DPCH 1040 Nutrition in Community Health

 

Duration: This program may be completed in 1-2 years depending on the number of units taken per trimester. Each year is divided into 3 trimesters and each trimester is 13 weeks duration. Students can commence study in the middle of January, May or September of every year. Students can study between 2-4 units per trimester.

Diploma of Community Health

This program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and practice of community health. The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories and techniques covered in the program to real life organizations. This program offers participants the opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills, facilitate change in groups and communities with the aim of improving health and subsequently quality of life. The program includes the framework of primary health care philosophy and is based on principles of partnerships, collaboration, facilitation and empowerment to meet health needs and health expectations. To be awarded the Diploma of Community Health participants must complete14 units that are divided into 2 Stages. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 will lead to the award of Certificate of Community Health while students who complete Stages 1 and 2 will be awarded the Diploma of Community Health.

 

Stage 1: The completion of the seven units listed in this first Stage of the Diploma of Community Health listed below will lead to the Certificate of Community Health.

Stage 2: The completion of the seven units in Stage 1 and the following seven units in Stage 2 will lead to the award of Diploma of Community Health

DPCH 2010 Environmental Health and Development

DPCH 2015 Community Health education

DPCH 2020 Non communicable Diseases

DPCH 2025 Immunizations

DPCH 2030 Primary Health care

DPCH 2035 STI/HIV/AIDS

DPCH 2040 Project Planning and Management in Community Health

Students can commence study in the middle of January, May or September of every year. Students can study between 2-4 units per trimester.

Certificate of Community Health Care Administration and Management

This Certificate program is the first stage of the Diploma of Community Health Care Administration and Management.  The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories, and skills covered in the program to real life organizations. Students planning to study this program must be in the Health Care industry or planning to work in the industry.

To be awarded the Certificate of Community Health Care Administration and Management, students must complete the following 6 courses:

Each year is divided into 3 trimesters and each trimester is 13 weeks duration. Students can commence study in the middle of January, May or September of every year. Students can study between 2-4 units per trimester.

Diploma of Community Health Care Administration and Management

This Diploma of Community Health Care Administration and Management is designed to provide participants with foundational theories, principles and skills essential for making administrative and management decisions in the various functional aspects of hospitals and health care organizations including marketing, finance, management and organizational behaviour, human resource management, planning, etc. Participants will be required to apply the principles, theories, and skills covered in the program to real life organizations.

 

Students planning to study this program must be in the Health Care industry or planning to work in the industry. To be awarded the Diploma of Community Health Care Administration and Management, students must complete Stage 1 (Certificate) and Stage 2 (Diploma).
