Diploma of Community Development

This program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and practice of community development. The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories and techniques covered in the program to real life organizations. To be awarded the Diploma of Community Development, participants must complete14 units that are divided into 2 Stages. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 will lead to the award of an Associate Diploma in Community Development while students who complete Stages 1 and 2 will be awarded the Diploma of Community Development.

This program may be completed in 1 – 2 years depending on the number of units taken per trimester. Each year is divided into 3 trimesters and each trimester is 13 weeks duration. Students can commence study in the middle of January, May or September of every year.

Diploma of Community Development (with Specialization in Social Work)

This program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and practice of community development with particular emphasize on Social work. The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories and techniques covered in the program to real life organizations. To be awarded the Diploma of Community Development (with specialization in Social Work) participants must complete14 units that are divided into 2 Stages. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 will lead to the award of an Associate Diploma in Community Development while students who complete Stages 1 and 2 will be awarded the Diploma of Community Development (with specialization in Social Work).

This course is designed for people who want to develop a career in Humanitarian work and for people who are already working for humanitarian organizations. It covers the principles, concepts, theories, and practice that are essential for effectively and efficiently managing humanitarian programs. The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories and techniques covered in the program to real life organizations. To be awarded the Diploma of Humanitarian Program Management participants must complete14 units that are divided into 2 Stages. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 will lead to the award of Associate Diploma of Humanitarian Program Management while students who complete Stages 1 and 2 will be awarded the Diploma of Humanitarian Program Management

Diploma of Disaster Management

This program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and practice of disaster management. The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories and techniques covered in the program to real life situations. The principal aim of this course is to train participants in various issues relating to disaster management. Special emphasis is placed on the specific disaster profile of each country and issues relating to vulnerability and risk assessment, prevention, mitigation, preparedness, rehabilitation and reconstruction and relevant legislation. The course consists of Stage 1 and four (4) different options. A student may study for any number of these options at any given time but no more than two options should be taken simultaneously. Successful completion of all the units in Stage 1 and all the units in any one of the other options, will lead to the award of an Associate Diploma of Disaster Management. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 and all the units in two of the options will lead to Diploma of Disaster Management

Diploma of Peace & Conflict Management

This program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and concepts relating to peace and conflict management. Peace and conflict management is an interdisciplinary field of study which is concerned with the problem of human conflict, especially violent and destructive conflict, and the means by which it can be constructively and non-violently resolved. Its interdisciplinary approach to analysis draws on the perspectives of the social sciences, history, and philosophy. Studying peace and conflict management is an appropriate preparation for the following career areas: politics and diplomacy; international relief and development; community and social services; public and private administration; law and corrections; education; and counseling, etc. To be awarded the Diploma of Peace and Conflict Management participants must complete14 units that are divided into 2 Stages. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 will lead to the award of an Associate Diploma of Peace and Conflict Management while students who complete Stages 1 and 2 will be awarded the Diploma of Peace and Conflict Management.

Diploma of International Project Management

This program is designed to provide participants with the fundamental principles, theories and practice of international project management. This program prepares participants to work as project officers and managers within government, semi-government and private sectors in both local and international organizations. The program promotes sustainable development and focuses on enhancing the capacity to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.  It also provides participants with the knowledge, attitudes and practical skills necessary to manage the human, physical and financial resources commonly associated with project development. The participants will be required to apply the principles, theories and techniques covered in the program to real life organizations. To be awarded the Diploma of International Project Management participants must complete14 units that are divided into 2 Stages. The completion of all the units in Stage 1 will lead to the award of an Associate Diploma in International Project Management while students who complete Stages 1 and 2 will be awarded the Diploma of International Project Management.
